VS2005 SP1 install error

Shortly after starting the VS 2005 SP1 installation I get a dialog box with the following message:The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exsists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch.

I have previously loaded VS 2005 SP1 beta, but I could not find any instructions about the need to uninstall it prior to loading the release version SP1.

Solution:

You receive this error if you have installed the SP1 Beta earlier. You must uninstall the SP1 Beta.
